Golden Valley Christian Church

Hiroo Onoda joined the Imperial Japanese Army in 1942. He rose to the rank of second lieutenant. By the end of the war in 1945, Lieutenant Onoda had evaded capture and was surviving in a remote area of the Philippines. The authorities, knowing his general location, dropped magazines, newspapers, and leaflets for over three decades, trying to persuade the soldier to give up. Finally, his former commanding officer personally ordered him to surrender, which he did. Lieutenant Onoda had refused to believe any evidence that the war was over. This narrative is akin to so many people today who refuse to accept the evidence that Jesus Christ is the Son of a living God. Like Lieutenant Onoda, what will it take to convince them?

GVCC is saddened at the death of our minister's father, Rodney Randall; the congregation extends their condolences to Bro. Tim and his family. Last Sunday, Bro. Tim's message was taken from Isaiah 64:1-8. Isaiah's message was about the destruction of his nation because of spiritual corruption. In these passages, Isaiah was asking God to come down from the heavens and actually dwell with the people. Basically, Isaiah was asking for a spiritual revival of the people because he was well aware of the consequences for the nation. Today, our nation, church, and people need a spiritual revival. If we draw near to God, He will draw near to us.
