Golden Valley Christian Church

The time was in the 1960's; the place was on a Deep South US highway; an older, black lady was standing beside her stalled car, in a driving rainstorm.  In desperation, the lady flagged down the next car.  A young, white, male driver stopped to assist her, which was truly unheard of, in this time period.  A few days later, the driver received a fabulous gift.  An attached note thanked him for his help, which allowed her to be with her sick husband before he died.  It was signed, "Mrs. Nat King Cole." (copied)  Praise God for this young man.  If we allow it, God will use any one of us to help Him do His work on this earth.  "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matt 25:40)

Richard Blake, from Christian Prison Ministries of Missouri, was here Sunday to share the ministry.  He told us there are 32,000 people incarcerated in twenty-four state and federal prisons in Missouri; CPMM ministers in twelve of those prisons, and continues to expand the ministry.  He reminded us what Jesus said in Matthew 25:34-40, about how important it is for Christians to minister to the oppressed, sick, and those in prison.  He encouraged us to pray for the prisoners and to consider volunteering with the ministry.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Why was Jeremiah arrested and put into prison?"  (Jeremiah 37:11-15)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro.
