After the deadly sin of rejecting Jesus, or blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matt 12:30-32), what would be considered the next worse sin?  Actually, no other sin is unforgivable, if the sinner repents and no longer sins.  However, there are some things that God hates, and sometimes, as Christians, we tend to overlook some of these things, or simply categorize them as “bad,” or “tolerable.”  Proverbs 6:16-19 gives a list of things God hates.  Strangely, the first one on this list is “haughty eyes,” i.e., arrogance or conceit.  The second one on the list is lying.  Would we consider these two sins as bad as murder?  (“Hands that shed innocent blood” is the third thing on the list of things God hates.)  To God, these are all bad, hated, detestable sins.  We need to remember that sin is anything that violates God’s laws and rule.

The GVCC family enjoyed a delicious noon meal last Sunday.  Our meals are always accompanied with lots of fellowship.  It takes work to put these meals on, and thanks go to those who oversee this endeavor and to all who bring food.

Before Bro James brought the message, we viewed a video that involved Jesus asking Peter, “Do you love me?”  Peter had betrayed Jesus, yet Peter was still loved by Jesus.  Bro James’ message then came from Matthew 16:13-18, in which Jesus asked His Disciples who they thought He was.  The Disciples answers varied, quoting who others had said Jesus was.  Some thought He was John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or other prophets.  It was Peter who gave the right answer, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”  Jesus confirmed this, telling Peter that only God had revealed it to him.  This is a question each one of us must answer.  If we think Jesus is the Son of the Living God, we must live our lives as He would wish us to, and obey His laws.  If we do, our lives will be happier, more peaceful, and blessed.
