Golden Valley Christian Church

The great depression was a miserable time for a great number of people.  One of these people was a man named Charles Darrow, an unemployed gentleman, married, with a child on the way.  There was one pleasure he enjoyed each evening, after searching for work.  He and his wife played a board game Mr. Darrow had devised.  Eventually marketed by Parker Brothers, this game made Mr. Darrow very wealthy.  The game was Monopoly.  Although many Christians may not have material wealth, the spiritual blessings God gives are more valuable than gold.

Last weekend, before the rain started, a group from Golden Valley Christian Church enjoyed a bicycle ride between Calhoun and Windsor, on the Katy Trail.  The church family extends their congratulations to Charles Melling, who will celebrate his 100th birthday next week.  Mr. Melling has been an example to our entire congregation with his faithfulness.

Bro. Tim's message was taken from the second chapter of Acts.  During Pentecost, the Apostle Peter gave a great message.  Over three thousand people, from many nations, accepted the message that day, gave their lives to Christ, and were baptized.  As Bro. Tim pointed out, we would love to have a revival to equal that today.  The early church chose to be obedient to Jesus; the church today should do the same.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Accosted at the Gate Beautiful for money, what did Peter give the crippled man?'"  (Acts 3:6-8)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
