To simply say this spring has been a wet one, would be an understatement.  The massive flooding this year speaks for itself.  One of the most important rivers in the United States has been overflowing its banks and causing tremendous damage to towns and farm lands.  The Missouri River, starting in Montana, flows through, or is the border for, five other states before bisecting Missouri.  It is the longest river in the U.S., covering 2,341 miles, before flowing into the Mississippi River at St. Louis.  After joining the Mississippi, these two rivers become the fourth longest river system in the world.  There is another river well known all over the world; that is, the Jordan River, where our Lord Jesus was baptized (Mark 1:9-11).  People still come from all parts of the world to be baptized in this famous river.

Bible School will soon be here, June 23-26, 6:30-8:30 PM.  A few remaining supplies were needed, but that changed last Sunday, with so many people willing to bring the items.  This is going to be a super Bible School, and all young people, ages 2 through high school seniors, are invited to be a part of it.  You are also reminded of the baseball game in Springfield on June 28th.  Be sure and sign up, if you want to go.  The GVCC Crafters are still at work, meeting at 2:00 PM on Thursdays.

Micah 6:8 was the scripture Bro Tim used in his message, “O.T. Examples of Walking with God.”  Enoch obeyed God to such a degree that he went straight to God, and did not taste death.  Noah trusted God and obeyed, building an ark that saved himself and his family from drowning.  Although Abraham did not know where God was leading him, he left his home in faith, and did as God asked.  David spent time in meditation with God, and the Bible tells us God said David was a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22).  These men were examples to all of us in obeying and walking with God.

The Bible challenge question:  What is the goat called, that carried Israel’s sins to the desert? (Lev 16:26)
