Sometimes perseverance is the key to success.  For example, take Johnny, a Louisville University quarterback, who had ambition to be a professional football player.  No professional team chose him when he graduated.  He wrote to many teams and was even called by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he did not make the team.  Determined, he continued his quest until he finally made the third string for Baltimore.  Because of his perseverance, Johnny Unitas became one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play professional football.  Likewise, Hebrews 12:1 encourages Christians to persevere in the struggle with Satan.

"When a Church Worships" was the title of Bro. Tim's sermon, taken from John 20:19-23.  As Bro. Tim pointed out, the central thought is to worship God.  In these passages, we learn the disciples met after Jesus' death, despite their fears of the Jews.  Like the disciples, we gain strength from meeting with other believers.  Matthew 18:20 tells us that if two or three meet in His name, He will be with them; therefore, we know Jesus is among us as we meet.  We come together to worship God because He wants us to, and we should have the desire to do so.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What was the parable of the trees in the Old Testament?'"  (Judges 9:7-21)
