Children can, and should, be a source of great joy to a family.  As most parents know, a newborn baby is only aware of its own wants, and this behavior accelerates as the child grows unless the parents intervene.  In the first five years of a child's life, the foundation is laid for language, social skills, ethics, and morality.  This is also the time that a child should learn about Jesus and His love for us.  Proverb 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  Parents should consider this passage very seriously.

Winter defied the calendar by giving us a little snow early Sunday morning, and a good dose of chilly!  However, friendly warmth is always felt inside the Golden Valley Christian Church.  III John was the subject of Bro. Tim's message.  This short epistle (fourteen verses) throws some mighty punches in very few words.  John praises two faithful Christians (Gaius and Demetrius) while blasting one (Diotrephes), who is causing havoc in the church.  The first two Christians are walking in the truth of the Lord, while the third man would have nothing to do with John, and instead was only concerned with himself.  John warns Christians to not imitate anything that is evil, but do what is good (verse 11).

The Bible challenge question is:  "What permission did Pilate give the Pharisees after Jesus' burial?'"  (Matthew 27:65-66)
