Golden Valley Christian Church

During the depression years of the 1930's, ice cream was a luxury many could not afford.  When a large snowfall came, people would scoop up bowls of fresh, clean snow, add a little sugar, vanilla, and cream, to enjoy a treat of snow cream.  Perhaps this is akin to the old adage, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade."  If we look closely, even though we don't see it at first, there is always a blessing in what God sends us.

Our weather continues to put stumbling blocks out to keep some from attending church services.  Bro. Tim's Sunday message came from Philippians 1:3-11, focusing on the prayer of Apostle Paul for the Philippian Christians.  He prayed for them to abound in love (with knowledge), to grow in character (living a blameless life), and to develop in grace filled with the fruit of righteousness (see Galatians 5:22-26).  Bro. Tim  emphasizes his messages with humorous stories, helping to illustrate the situation he is talking about.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Who, at King Saul's command, caused the massacre of eighty-five priests and an entire city?'"  (I Samuel 22:18-19)
