Golden Valley Christian Church

Ignorance of facts can cause devastation.  Recently, there was a documentary on TV about the decade of the 1980's, when AIDS appeared on the scene like a tidal wave.  It was a frightening illness, and people, in their ignorance, did terrible things.  A little boy contracted AIDS through a blood transfusion.  The child was shunned and not allowed in the school he had been attending.  Ignorance of the Bible can also cause problems.  That is one reason we are encouraged to study the Bible, so that we may stand on the facts of truth.

As Christmas exited, so have our Christmas decorations, with other beautiful ones taking their place.  Chad Williams has been busy putting finishing touches to our sanctuary sound booth; he also attached a beautiful handrail by the platform steps so that we, who are a little unsteady on foot, have something to hold on to.  Praise God for people like Chad, Paula, and their helpers!

Even though the weather was miserable and the congregation diminished, Golden Valley Christian Church held Sunday services.  Those lucky enough to attend were blessed by a group, composed of Rosanna Cross, Laura Mendenhall, Georgia Randall, and Derek Cross, who sang "Love Lifted Me."  During our weekly communion service, Ken Jones refreshed our memories of the visit of the Magi to Jesus, and the meaning of it.  Bro. Tim's message, from Acts 4:16-20, asked the question, "What are we going to do?"  The simple answer is that we are to spread the words of Jesus.  As the church is the Body of Christ in this world, we are to be seen and heard, as were Peter and John.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What harlot was cited as one of the heroines of faith?'"  (Hebrews 11:31)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
