When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus' answer is recorded in Matthew 22:34-40 and Mark 12:28-31.  Did you know these words are also recorded in Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18?  These commandments are so important that God ordered them in the Old Testament, and Jesus renewed them in the New Testament.  If these commandments are that important, why is it so many people, including Christians, do not follow them?  Do we think God is only kidding?

When it comes to supervising a wonderful and delicious basket dinner, JoAnn Snider and Paula Phillips would be at the top of the list!  The Golden Valley Christian Church enjoyed a "Mexican style" basket dinner Sunday.  Thanks, ladies, for a job well done; also, thanks to all that brought food.

Georgia Randall sang a beautiful musical special, "If He Hung the Moon."  I Peter 3:12 was the scripture Bro. Tim used for his message.  This verse gives some of the characteristics of God.  The verse focuses on 1) God's eyes on us as Christians, as we live our lives, 2) God's ears, as he listens to our joys, concern for others, and our love for Him, 3) God's face, against evil.  There is no evil done that God does not know about.  There is a record kept, and we will answer for our actions.  As Christians, we must stand up for what is right in God's eyes.

The Bible challenge question is:  "After His trial with the High Priest, why didn't the Jews stone Jesus to death, as was their custom?'"  (John 18:31-32)
