Golden Valley Christian Church

The Bible is still a living document of God's love for us.  It is difficult, for those of us who love to study the Bible, to understand why some people do not read it.  The people in the Bible are real people--some great, and some actually evil.  If you read about the lives of Abraham, his son, Isaac, and grandson, Jacob, along with Jacob's twelve sons, you might be surprised at how much these people are like us.  All of these people made some dumb mistakes in their lives, but God used each one of them to contribute to His overall plan for man's salvation.

Last Sunday, Georgia Randall, singing "We Shall Behold Him," blessed the Golden Valley Christian Church family in song.  Next Sunday, September 16th, will be our "Friend Day."  Using this event as his theme, Bro. Tim's message was entitled "Friendship is Important."  We imitate God when we are a good friend; after all, who is a better friend than Jesus?  Among the things we should do for our friends is to help them succeed and to encourage them.  Christians sometimes "shoot their own" by finding faults of others and condemning, rather than helping.  This should not be; we are instructed to love our fellow man (Mark 12:28-31).

The Bible challenge question is:  "How are we justified?"  (Romans 5:1)
