Golden Valley Christian Church

Prayers were answered this week with a badly-needed, refreshing rain.  This request has been in a number of people's prayers.   Thankfully, God does answer prayer; however, in HIS time, not always ours.  Bro. Tim's message came from Luke 18:1-8, concerning prayer, a very timely subject.  Bro. Tim pointed out that prayer is communication between the spirit of God and the spirit of man.  It is an expression of faith and a means of spiritual growth.  Prayer brings us closer to God.  Do we pray as we should?  Remember that our prayer should always be "according to the will of God."

Last Sunday evening, Bro. Tim and his wife, Georgia, invited the congregation to their home for a cookout.  The food was tasty, and there was plenty of fun and fellowship enjoyed by the adults and children alike.  Please note that this coming Father's Day, our 6:00 Sunday evening service will be cancelled.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What articles, touched by Paul, did God use to cure the sick?" (Acts 19:11-12)

Thought for the week:  "He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue."  -- Proverbs 28:23
