Golden Valley Christian Church

December is a month for celebrating our Savior's birth.  That should be our prime goal in this wonderful season.  Last Sunday, the Golden Valley Christian Church started that celebration in earnest when the youth of our church (with help from Steven Cross and Alex Jones, as soldiers) did their rendition of the Christmas story, under the direction of Rosanna Cross.  Even "old Scrooge" would have had a great smile on his face, along with a happy heart.  Narrator, Laura Mendenhall, led our youngsters in telling the age-old story of that magnificent time when our Savior was born.  We found we had a "soloist" in Samantha Williams, as she sang "Silent Night." Our minister, Tim Randall, reenacted the part of King Herod, with a touch of humor.  The program ended with the children's handbell choir playing "Joy to the World."  If there is any place for pride in a church, we all certainly felt it for this group of youngsters who attend GVCC.

After the morning program our congregation, along with many attending visitors, enjoyed a delicious meal.  Our sincere thanks go to Judy Harris, Paula Phillips, and all of their kitchen help.  Paula Phillips and Georgia Randall had spent many hours making our building beautiful and festive to celebrate the birthday of a king.  We were also happy to have Jerry Harris and Robina Briggs back with us after long bouts of illness.  Sunday morning we really felt "God's in His heaven--All's right with the world!" a quote from a Robert Browning poem.  Let us all count our blessings!

The Bible challenge question is:  "Why did Joseph want to 'quietly' divorce Mary?"  (Matthew 1:19)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
